Famed Lego artist Nathan Sawaya’s creation at the Flinn Gallery includes this wonderful yet creepy work of art of a red man crawling out of the belly of a suited man. Titled Emergence of the Artist, it is aptly autobiographical as it could possibly represent Lego artist Nathan Sawaya’s own journey as a former lawyer (the suited Lego man) discarding that life and emerging as a superb Lego sculptor (the red spirit). Take or leave the attempt to make meaning of it, you’ve got to give credit to Nathan Sawaya’s piece as a looker for sure.
