Any old school Nintendo game fan will remember the classic Metal Gear game that spawned an entire franchise of games with its new-fangled idea to sneak through enemy defenses rather than blast through them with guns blazing. This Lego Metal Gear NES scene is true to that principle. The Lego vignette shows a couple enemies with guns and their jeeps, but no hero? Or is there… Yes! careful inspection rewards a nice surprise, it’s the discreet cardboard box. Sneaking around in that box was a guaranteed way to move past enemy lines undetected. The Lego Metal Gear is true to the game as it is true to the scene, with details down to the life bar and rank, and it even shows that Snake is currently traveling in “Cardboard” mode on the lower right.
